Developing Gospel values, a commitment to service and strong academic skills.
In the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, the Catholic bishops of the United States, address their commitment to working with children and youth, parents, educators, civil authorities, and various organizations in the protection of children and youth in our care.
In response to our call to accountability the Diocese of Amarillo provides training for children, clergy, religious, and laity (employees and volunteers) in the prevention of and recognitions of child abuse.
We thank you for volunteering to work with our school children! The Diocese of Amarillo requires that all those working with our children/youth MUST fulfill specific requirements. Safe Environment training and a Criminal Background Check is required for all who are over the age of 18 and will be working with children/youth. Background checks, once approved, and Safe Environment training are good for 5 years.
Please download the Diocesan Safe Environment Questionnaire. This must be filled out, signed and returned to Parish/School on day of training. Safe Environment Training dates are typically held the first Monday of each month at 6:30pm. Please call the school or parish office to confirm your attendance.
